Andrea first sighted this ray about 200 yards offshore of the Red Hill area of Kona on October 28, 2007 at about 8:30 in the morning. She said Dre Ray was likely feeding on plankton at the time as his cephalic fins were unrolled and his mouth was open. They were able to observe him for approximately 5 minutes before he left the area.
