Fran is a large female ray first seen at the Kailua Pier by Jeff Leicher
in July of 2003. He named her after his mother, Fran Leicher. Subsequently,
Linda and Dom of Dive&Surf spotted Fran off the Kona Coast on May
13, 2004 and took these excellent photos during the Kona Classic Photo
contest.
