Fay Ray is a young female first identified at the Kona Surf site on the night of May 11, 1998. She was only 4’-5’ across then and extremely shy. She lingered in the periphery as the larger mantas scooped the plankton attracted to the divers lights. After a few weeks she learned it was safe to go near the divers and she began feeding with the others. She has grown a couple of feet over the last two years and she now participates in the feeding willingly.
